English Paper Piecing! What Fun!

Everyone had a great time learning to English Paper Piece in Greer on Thursday night. Our new meeting venue at the Tryon Recreation Center in Greer had very good lighting a nice roomy setup where we could all sit around the table and sew and share.

In addition to English Paper Piecing, we all added a new skill to our hand sewing: Marrying Your Thread to Your Needle so your needle never comes unthreaded. You can find the instructions here: https://handywomanshop.blogspot.com/2015/11/how-to-marry-your-needle-most-important.html You do have to use a very fine millieners needle to do this.

English Paper Piecing is a great way to quilt without having to worry about accurate cutting. As long as you have a good paper template, you are going to have a perfect block, hexagon or shape. Also we used a glue stick to baste the templates to the fabric which really speeded things up. You can download the templates HERE and print them out on your personal printer.
