News From Your President

Dear ASG Members:

With spring around the corner, we are looking forward to warmer weather.  Flowers blooming with vibrant colors might inspire us to try new projects. This year's In-Colors are bright and bold — pinks, plaids and florals. Let's get our creative juices flowing and try something new and different from our usual. A new quilt pattern or a new color to our wardrobe might be a start.

Do not let the desire for perfection become your enemy. Try to think outside your own personal box and try something new. Perhaps getting inspiration from a sister sewer's ideas might help.

Coming up soon we will have the Flag Challenge4H Program and Quiltfest Greenville, SC (April 20 - April 22). They are just some of the things that we have to look forward to.

I hope to see each and everyone at our meetings.

Happy stitching,

What's going on in the neighborhood?

Greer Neighborhood Group Meeting

Hello everyone, we are still meeting at the little house behind Faith United Methodist Church on S 14 Highway. The change to the third Wednesday at 2:00 has been favorably received. Our group is able to have a more intimate meeting as we have the entire house to ourselves. So far this year, we had two demonstrations; self-binding and kitchen towel potholder. In April, Phyllis Costa will be demonstrating how to make a kitchen boa. Joann Clauter and I are planning a mystery meeting for the spring. We would love for you to join us!

The edge of summer

I borrowed this book from the Libby library online system for ebooks. It was randomly picked by me but ended up being in part about a button factory on Lake Michigan It was a pretty good read It reminded me of our speaker at our annual meeting this year.
