We ventured down the road on a rainy day to see Evie’s collection of antique sewing machines, mostly from the mid or late 1800’s, with many rare machines. These included toy machines for children, machines with curved needles that caused fabric to advance (like feed dogs do), even a pocket machine that clamped onto a table edge and could be easily carried with one hand. A fabulous lunch followed, and a trip to her favorite quilt shop that we all agreed would be worth a repeat visit.

It was a wonderful day! The sewing machines were amazing and Evie's husband, Jerry was a wealth of information as well as Evie. Thank you for having us.

Such a fun day! Many thanks to Evie for inviting us into her beautiful home and sharing her collection of wonderful sewing machines with us. The lunch at R Place was wonderful and, of course, the visit to Palmetto Quilts was fun as always!
